Job Summary

Create and maintain mapping products including civil engineering deliverables, and records utilizing automated mapping and GIS technologies at a technical level, not considered professional. Using source engineering and land title documents, extracting relevant data to support the project assigned. Perform civil engineering/surveying calculations using established processes, using geometry and algebra.

Atleast 8x a month in-office expectation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze client verbal requests for mapping support, assess available data and recommend appropriate mapping/cartographic workflows and processes for creation of suitable mapping deliverables.
  • Provide a broad base of mapping support for PSEG business processes and information presentation, with special emphasis on real estate, environmental and governmental regulatory support requirements, preparing geographic documents that incorporate classic mapping, photographic and remotely sensed imagery, and automated data.


Job Specific Qualifications

Required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 3 year of experience in plan preparation using Microstation, or the equivalent CAD or GIS, in a networked environment with file management experience at the user level.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired
  • Associates Degree
  • Strong spatial and mathematical ability.
  • Proficiency in the use of Computer Mapping software, e.g. Microstation, OpenRoads, OpenCities, image management software, rendering & visualization applications, Geo-spatial Information System software, e.g. ArcGIS and associated modules.
  • 5 years of experience in plan preparation using Microstation, or the equivalent CAD or GIS, in a networked environment with file management experience at the user level.
  • Formal training in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Cartography or Automated Mapping and image processing for mapping and Cadastral Surveying Calculations.
