Network Engineer

We are currently looking for an experienced Network Engineer for a role on one of our projects in Memphis, TN.

The Network Engineer will be assisting in the designing and maintaining of computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), internet, intranet, cloud, data center and other communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs administration and implementation tasks for the organization's network infrastructure, including wired, wireless, and voice connectivity. Responds to requests for installation, administration, and support of network components and systems.
• Provides technical support for network issues, network analysis, installation, configuration, and support. Coordinates and makes assignments for the current and future requirements of assigned areas of responsibility.
• Implements and provides guidance related to processes and policies. Creates and maintains network documentation, including scopes of works, diagrams, processes, and test plans.
• Monitors network performance and investigates problems and outages to resolution.
• Evaluates and recommends solutions that are feasible, cost effective, compatible, and consistent with the department and organization's strategic goals. Researches, plans, tests, and supports the implementation of various business and technical solutions.
• Responds as required or requested on a 24/7 on-call basis to support the organization.
• Working with other network engineers and/or vendor support to reduce network service disruption.
• Takes initiative, exercises sound judgement, communicates, and when necessary, directs inside and outside resources to resolve problems.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning for the enterprise.
• Incorporate security best practices in Network design implementation.

Qualifications + Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study. Equivalent combination of experience and relevant industry certification may be substituted as appropriate.
• 4-5 Years of Networking experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects.
• Working Technical Knowledge in Network Automation and Network Design.
• Working knowledge in Enterprise Wireless Technology.
• Working knowledge in Extreme Networks (Extreme Routing and Switching, Extreme Fabric Connect, ExtremeCloud IQ) is a plus.
• Working knowledge in low voltage structured cabling design and outside plant fiber optic cabling design.
