Position: DevOps Engineer with Java
Location: Reston, VA / Plano, TX (1 day Onsite in a Week)
Duration: Contract (W2 Only)
Job Description:
Deployment engineer ( Java/Devops/AWS)
Location: Reston, VA (preferred) or Plano, TX come onsite 1 day a week
Interview process: MS Teams video
Contract: SOW goes through FEB 2025 could extend to DevOps or DEV role after this project they have plenty of work
Development: Java, Angular, and AWS
- DevOPs: UCD, Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform ( need to have all)
- Development: Java(required), Angular(preferred), and AWS(required)
- This is Not a standard role need someone with overall architecture, need to understand how developers develop code and how DevOps works in go live industry code, moving into production analyze and come up with processes from code, to QA, to production, etc
- Best industry practices for code migration, testing, moving into production focus is specifically on how code is moved into production
- Tied completely to deployment so need DEV and DevOps background
- How to move code more efficiently without requiring other dependencies need to understand DevOps and Development to move apps into production seamlessly
- Core technologies: don t have to be current developers, could be DEVs or DevOPs or Architect
Source code management: Expertise in bitbucket or similar version control systems. Ability to review repositories, identify issues, enforce branching strategies, and recommend best practices for code organization and management.
Environment management: Expertise in analyzing existing Environment and align environments in every life cycle till production supporting multiple scrum teams without any dependencies.
CI/CD pipeline management: deep understanding of Jenkins, gitlab, terraform including pipeline as code (groovy, python), pipeline optimization, plugin management, and best practices for building, testing, and deploying applications.
Artifact management: experience with nexus repository and jfrog artifactory for binary and artifact management. Ability to review current setup, optimize repository layout, and ensure secure and efficient artifact storage and retrieval.
Containerization and orchestration: knowledge of docker and experience with container registries like jfrog. familiarity with AWS Fargate and other container orchestration tools
Monitoring and logging: experience with monitoring and logging tools. Ability to implement and optimize observability solutions for infrastructure and applications
