Description The Medical Education Coordinator oversees the day-to-day activities of the training program. Adapts to the rules and regulations of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as it relates to graduate medical education. This position will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and tracking accreditation documentation for the training program. There is accountability for various aspects of the training program, ensuring goals and objectives are met in accordance with established criteria. Assists in developing the educational quality of the training program and maintaining compliance with ACGME accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. This position provides administrative support to the Director of Graduate Medical Education, Program Director, and trainees, while also serving as a liaison between the Program Director, physicians/faculty, trainees, participating training sites, and other hospital/outpatient departments and staff. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in graduate medical education preferred or equivalent work experience in a related field. National Certification in Training Administration of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME) preferred or acquired within 3 years of employment. Expertise in the use of the Microsoft Office Platform (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of Residency Management Software (New Innovations). Excellent organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively (written and oral), ability to multitask, prioritize competing priorities, and meet deadlines. Must be comfortable working independently and in a collaborative team environment consisting of diverse populations of staff, physicians/faculty, trainees, and other personnel. Essential Physical Requirements Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Functional vision and hearing. Eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the occasional lifting. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Job-Specific Standards Understands the ACGME requirements for program accreditation and maintains accurate records. Compiles necessary data for regulatory reports, annual surveys, and program updates as required by ACGME and other agencies. Tracks various documentation regarding trainee promotions, training verifications, vacations, sick leaves, and leaves of absence. Schedules educational activities that support the program's curriculum and learning objectives (e.g., didactic schedule, educational/simulation workshops, online learning modules). Monitors trainee compliance related to competency-based rotation goals and objectives and program policies in accordance with ACGME and Sponsoring Institution requirements. Coordinates trainee, faculty, peer, program, rotation, and various other required evaluations and completion of bi-annual milestone reviews. Supports accreditation activities including ACGME site visits, internal program reviews, Clinical Competency Committee, and Program Evaluation Committee. Reviews and monitors logging, violations, and documentation of trainee clinical and educational work hours to ensure ACGME compliance. Demonstrates standard of performance (compassion, respect, collaboration, and integrity) that support the Iredell Health System values. Supports resident recruitment, including the interview process, ranking, and post-match administration as well as orientation, and graduation processes. Utilizes and understands use of the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
