Description SIGN ON BONUS ELIGIBLE The Registered Nurse prescribes nursing care, delegates nursing activities, and coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to provide optimal quality care, consistent with the hospital’s mission and nursing philosophy, objectives, and standards.

Has full access to patient health information. SHIFT: 1st shift (hours will vary) Requirements Current Registered Nurse Licensure in North Carolina. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support for healthcare providers. Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Successful completion of a hospital and unit-specific orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the RN will be working and addresses the growth and development needs for the patients for whom the RN will be providing nursing care. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. JOB SPECIFIC STANDARDS Demonstrates a high commitment to the patient through evaluation of nursing care rendered. Sets the example for patient assessment. Excels in planning care for patient. Sets the example for excellent patient teaching. Demonstrates exemplary reporting and recording skills Demonstrates a proactive approach to the implementation of nursing care Maintains a high level of accountability professionally and clinically. Exhibits exceptional leadership abilities. Thoroughly obtains patient information to assess the patient for surgery and identifies any problems that could result in surgery cancellation or need for immediate intervention. Assures that all patient charts for the next day have the diagnostic test results in appropriate place and all other necessary papers are present. Reassess the patient the day of surgery for changes that could potentially result in surgery cancellation. Completes post procedural/surgical implementation of discharge orders within a specific time frame Gives individualized discharge instructions according to JCAHO and IMH policies.
