Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop and mobile device support firm wide as the initial point of contact
  • This role requires you to be on call including nights and weekends
  • Install and configure computer systems and applications within the firm, including onboarding new hires
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems
  • Liaison between Verition and vendor support teams
  • Pro-actively prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Utilize ticketing system for technical assistance requests, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved
  • Vendor and order management
  • Create online documentation pertaining to computer and application troubleshooting and usage
  • Maintain a working audit log detailing all system updates, as well as the date of completion
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with employees and vendors
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Technical degree in computer science or a related field
  • 8+ years of proven experience supporting employees and technology in a fast-moving environment
  • Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Mac OSX, Linux is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Microsoft Excel and Outlook, O365 is a big plus
  • Experience with VDI ( VMWare)
  • Experience supporting Android and IOS devices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent analytical skills

Accountabilities

  • Providing Desktop (Windows 11) and windows application support for front office and back-office users including hardware support.
  • Providing front line technical support on the dealing floor for trading applications, liaising, or escalating issues where relevant to specialist development teams.
  • Management of local Active Directory to implement local access policies, manage user accounts and permissions and ensure data security.
  • Maintaining Westpac's Cybersecurity standards through effective patch management, virus-scanning and following our global data security processes
  • Administration of desktop and mobile telephony systems including trading dealerboards and mobile voice recording
  • Ensuring operational and system documentation is created and maintained, including amongst other things incident and problem records and user and system documentation.
