This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will be responsible for test campaigns in support of development and qualifying flight avionics hardware. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing safe and robust avionics for the New Glenn launch vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related areas
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience developing test equipment for battery cells or packs
  • Sound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentals
  • Cognizant of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent
  • Familiar with hardware development life cycle
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and test
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Experience with high voltage safety standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery cell safety and operation
  • Familiarity with Battery Management Systems
  • Experience with safely testing high voltage systems


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of integrated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)
  • Experience with testing to UN 38.3 and/or RTCA DO-311
  • Experience leading sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
  • Experience working with Python
  • Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
  • Familiarity with git, Jenkins, JIRA
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $128,430.00-$179,802.00
