Job Description

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Site Superintendent for a client of ours located in Detroit MI. Our client is a Construction company. The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities, including coordinating subcontractors, scheduling deliveries, and managing on-site personnel.

  • This position is a Direct Hire role; you must reside in the state of MI or willing to relocate (with a relocation package).

Responsibilities Of a Site Superintendent

  • Develop detailed construction schedules in coordination with project managers, taking into account milestones, deadlines, and resource availability.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones, proactively identifying and addressing potential delays or obstacles.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Address any issues or conflicts that arise during construction promptly and effectively, maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor workmanship and quality of construction to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
  • Coordinate inspections by relevant authorities and ensure timely resolution of any deficiencies or non-compliance issues.
  • Monitor project expenses and resource utilization to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiencies without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and other financial documents in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including school administrators, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and updates to keep all parties informed of project progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address any changes or modifications to project scope, schedule, or budget.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily progress reports, inspection records, and change orders.
  • Generate regular progress reports for project managers and school administrators, highlighting key milestones, issues, and accomplishments.

Qualifications Of a Site Superintendent

  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate on-site personnel.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise between various stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • OSHA certification and other relevant certifications/licenses may be required.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

REQUIRED Experience And Education

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a construction superintendent, preferably within the education sector.
