Job Title: Medical Lab Technician

Job Description

The Medical Lab Technician will determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. They will perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. The technician will monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. They will demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Additionally, the technician will prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls, and report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Responsibilities also include performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary, assisting with the processing of specimens when needed, and maintaining a safe work environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Hard Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP certified preferred (requires TN license if not ASCP, AMT, or AAD certified)
  • Generalist experience in Coag, Hem, UA, etc.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
