Our client is projected to grow and this position could grow into controller and CFO. Salary is based on experience.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Assistant Controller is responsible for the company’s financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations. The duties include assuming a leadership role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks, reviewing financial data to make forecasting decisions and communicating with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) about financial strategies.

Primary Objectives of the Assistant Controller:

· Establish and maintain accounting system which guarantees accurate presentation of financial results

· Prepare all monthly financial reports (internal and external) for CFO review and approval

· Prepare annual budget, and measure financial performance against budget or other established metrics

· Perform financial analysis monthly, quarterly and annually as requested. Also consolidated financial statement preparation

Establish and maintain accounting system:

· Review financial entries throughout the month to ensure proper recording of expenditure (whether capital or expense)

· Coordinate with the CFO and Accounting Manager to ensure entries are corrected prior to closing the month

· Coordinate with Operations employees to ensure production entries are recorded accurately and timely

· Control employee access to accounting system, assigning rights to new employees or employees who have changed roles

· Review and reconcile all inventory-related entries, as well as reviewing and recording all capital asset purchases, disposals, and depreciation/amortization

· Reconcile all other Balance Sheet accounts for all companies monthly

Prepare all monthly financial reports:

· Process all monthly journal entries (prepaid expense amortization, expense accruals, etc.) to close the month within required timeframe

· Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for CFO review

· Prepare required monthly and quarterly reports to comply with bank debt covenants, for CFO review

· Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial statement preparation process

Additional Job Responsibilities:

· Maintain strict confidentiality for all sensitive or proprietary company information

· Lead annual audit, pulling necessary documentation for auditor review

· Track construction project expenditures to ensure accurate and timely recording and payment as needed

· Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

· Must be self-starter and able to assist the CFO in monitoring expenses of the company

· All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science in Accounting

· 7+ years of experience in advanced accounting roles and financial analysis

· In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

· Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables

· Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close procedures

· Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, and consolidated financial statement preparation

· Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (QuickBooks preferred)

· A commitment to professionalism always, including a positive and helpful customer service orientation.

· Must be very detail-oriented

· Dedication to uncompromising ethical behaviors; a high degree professional integrity

· Willingness and ability to successfully pass a background investigation and drug test

· This is a US-based opportunity; candidates must be fully authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

· CPA, MBA, or CMA is preferred

· 10+ years related job experience is preferred

· Bilingual or multiple languages is a plus
