Description

SAIC is looking for a Field Engineer with a strong focus on building and maintaining robust client-server relationships and connecting a diverse array of sensor type devices to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing hardware and software solutions in dynamic field environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for local and remote troubleshooting, establishing and maintaining strong relationships through excellent service and communication.
  • Deploy and configure servers, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance in client environments.
  • Integrate a variety of sensor type devices with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and efficient data flow between devices and servers.
  • Conduct on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of hardware and software solutions across various locations.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and tailor solutions that enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving client-server interactions and multi-sensor device connectivity.
  • Deliver training to clients and their staff on newly installed technologies, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
  • Create detailed technical documentation and system diagrams for client reference and for internal knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies and industry trends related to sensor technology and client-server architectures.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and five (5) or more years experience; Masters and three (3) or more years experience; PhD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer or in a similar role with a focus on client-server systems and sensor integration.
  • Extensive knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and networking principles.
  • Demonstrated experience with various sensor technologies and their connectivity, such as IoT devices, industrial sensors, and IP cameras.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a field setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and understand their technical needs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, manage time effectively, and coordinate work with other departments.

Clearance:

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Clearance required to start.
