POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer is responsible for all things Quality at Head Rush Technologies. The Quality Engineer also owns the creative investigation and problem-solving process. This role utilizes technical knowledge and a root cause analysis method to expose the underlying causes of quality issues including supplier non-conformances and customer complaints. The Quality Engineering role is an critical part of the company that collaborates with all other departments to ensure product quality remains high.

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Engineering Manager located in our Louisville, CO facility. Reliable transportation to Louisville is required. This role typically operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying temperatures. The role may require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify root cause of product non-conformances and drive product and/or process improvement action plans
  • Improve receiving and in-process inspection and acceptance processes
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to gather information and resolve issues
  • Gather data from various sources and recognize which trends merit further investigation
  • Maintain current Module D certification by performing internal audits and organizing 3rd party regulation activities
  • Interact with internal and external customers to understand feedback and provide updates
  • Prepare clearly written reports detailing results of investigations
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the quality issue reporting process
  • Develop, maintain, and present quality metrics in group meetings
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, conducting audits and assessments as needed
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement correct actions
  • Other Quality related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS in Engineering or 4-year technical degree in related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineer role
  • Experience within a regulated industry is preferred
  • Exceptional problem solving/analysis skills using sound engineering principals
  • Project Management Skills – ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects while utilizing a broad range of company resources in an efficient manner
  • Knowledge of all aspects of component and product design, manufacturing, and quality
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with team members and customers
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Hands-on approach to root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Working knowledge of complex mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, and/or similar quality methodologies
  • Flexibility to shift priorities as needed

ESTIMATED STARTING SALARY RANGE

$65,000 - $85,000 Annually + Bonus

Salary range is dependent on experience and can be expanded.
