Position Overview

The client seeks a visionary Director of Supply Chain to lead our Purchasing and Logistics functions in the U.S. This role is pivotal in enhancing our inventory planning processes to ensure the procurement of the right products in accurate quantities and a timely manner. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven strategies to streamline supply chain operations, fostering collaborations with Sales, customers for forecasting, and ensuring optimal vendor management. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for aligning supply chain processes with the Client's strategic goals of focus and cost leadership, contributing to the overall profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative supply chain strategies that align with the Client's focus on specialized products and cost leadership.
  • Lead the Supply Chain teams across the U.S. and Asia, ensuring cohesive and efficient global operations.
  • Oversee inventory management, forecasting, and planning processes to minimize costs and maximize availability of critical components.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts that benefit Clients in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to align supply chain strategies with market demands and customer expectations.
  • Drive a data-driven culture within the supply chain organization, leveraging ERP and BI tools to optimize operations and support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and maintain Client's reputation for quality and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in supply chain management within a global manufacturing or distribution environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful supply chain strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in ERP systems (Microsoft Navision/Business Central, preferred).
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a proven history of managing vendor relationships for mutual benefit.
  • Experience in leading diverse, cross-functional teams across different geographical locations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other data analytics tools and hands-on experience are must-haves.
  • APICS CPIM or other ASCM certifications will be considered a significant plus, demonstrating a commitment to supply chain excellence.
