The Educational Technology (Ed Tech) Director is responsible for leading and managing the integration and implementation of technology across the school to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Leadership:
  • Develop and implement the school’s educational technology strategy, aligning it with the school’s academic goals and vision.
  • Lead the planning, deployment, and management of technology resources, including Chromebooks, iPads, and other instructional devices.
  • Oversee the integration and usage of Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, Apple School Manager, Mosyle Device Manager, and Clever.
  • Stay current with emerging educational technology trends and assess their potential impact on the school’s programs.
  • Systems Administration:
  • Manage Google Workspace Admin tasks, including user account management, security settings, and application configurations.
  • Oversee Microsoft Admin tasks, including managing Active Directory, Office 365, and other Microsoft-based services.
  • Administer Apple School Manager and Mosyle Device Manager for iPad deployments and maintenance.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of Clever for single sign-on and rostering across educational platforms.
  • Policy Enforcement:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure the secure and efficient operation of all technology systems.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices, particularly concerning student and staff information.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and students on appropriate technology use, digital citizenship, and cybersecurity.
  • Technical Support and Training:
  • Provide direct support to faculty and staff in the use of educational technology, including Google Classroom and other instructional tools.
  • Facilitate professional development sessions to enhance the effective use of technology in the classroom.
  • Coordinate with the IT support team to resolve technical issues and ensure minimal disruption to the educational process.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead technology-related projects, such as new device rollouts, network upgrades, and software implementations.
  • Collaborate with department heads and administrators to ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with curricular and operational needs.
  • Manage the technology budget, including purchasing, licensing, and subscription renewals.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the technology department and other school departments, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to understand their technology needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Represent the school’s technology interests in meetings with vendors, partners, and the broader educational community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace Admin, Microsoft Admin, Apple School Manager, Mosyle Device Manager, and Clever.
  • Experience with Chromebook and iPad deployments in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Classroom and other educational platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a direct communication style.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and parents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
