We re looking for a talented Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our team and work for one of our clients in the biopharma industry, supporting their mission-critical infrastructure.
Job Description:
As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure systems with a focus on VMware, Windows Server, Linux Server, and Nutanix technologies. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical work with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using VMware.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Implement and manage Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, responding to outages and incidents promptly.
- Collaborate with other engineers and IT professionals to support infrastructure scalability and security.
- Assist in capacity planning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on VMware, Windows Server, Linux Server, and Nutanix.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware) and hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix).
- Strong experience with server management and administration for both Windows and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and best practices.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Location:
This role is hybrid, with a requirement to be on-site in Waltham, MA, part of the time.
