Job Description:
We are looking for Software Programmers with expertise in IDEAL and Cobol to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining and developing legacy systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and provide innovative solutions. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid/remote work style, based in the Greater Phoenix Area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Cobol and IDEAL programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and solve complex problems.
- Analyze and modify existing software to optimize performance and meet business requirements.
- Provide technical support for ongoing projects and help modernize legacy systems.
- Write efficient, well-documented code in adherence to company standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with IDEAL and Cobol programming languages.
- Strong understanding of mainframe systems and batch processing.
- Ability to work in a hybrid/remote environment with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other legacy systems like JCL and VSAM.
- Knowledge of modernization tools and approaches for Cobol-based systems.
- Prior experience working in financial services, healthcare, or similar industries.
Work Style:
