We are currently hiring for a Digital Print Technician to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role as Supply Specialist, you will perform assigned Print Operations functions on a routine basis or as needed. Operate digital printing equipment used to print a variety of forms, letters, notices, and publications on various paper stocks; and prepare printed items for delivery through the use of bindery and finishing equipment. Ensure a high level of quality is maintained throughout the process for each print job produced. Provide routine maintenance on all equipment.

Logistics

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 at Alpine Road.

What You Will Do

  • Performs the following functions of the Print Operations on a routine basis or serves as a backup as needed:
  • Printing: Utilizing multiple workstations transfers jobs to appropriate printer, inputs print parameters set by Digital Specialist, and applies logic for saddle stitching, folding, and other job specific requests.
  • Prepares printers ensuring appropriate paper type and quantity, and monitors throughout in order to maintain quality of the entire print job.
  • Responsible for minor periodic maintenance of printers.
  • Close out print jobs within PrintGroove upon completion and forward to bindery to be prepared for customer delivery.
  • Bindery: Reviews each print job for quality control prior to preparing for customer delivery.
  • Operates all equipment and machinery necessary to prepare print jobs for customer delivery which may involve cutting, folding, perfect binding, spiral binding, drilling, padding, shrink wrapping, etc.
  • Applies pickup log and attaches shipping label to all packaged print jobs.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance of all bindery equipment.
  • Maintains paper supply for print operations.
  • Receives all incoming shipments to the Copy Center.
  • Ensures appropriate tracking and that a high level of quality is maintained throughout the process for each print job produced.
  • Provides routine maintenance on all equipment. Maintains a clean and well organized work area.

To Qualify For This Position, You Will Need

  • Required Work Experience: 1 Year experience, including 6 months experience working in a bindery or print shop or 6 months working on high speed digital printers; and 6 months working with personal computer software including Adobe Acrobat and Word.
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Training: Valid South Carolina driver's license.
