Job Description: As a Front Office Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience from the moment they walk in. You will handle a variety of administrative and customer service tasks to support the daily operations of our practice. This is a crucial role in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between patients, staff, and providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments via phone, email, and online portals
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Verify patient insurance and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with patient registration, paperwork, and electronic medical records (EMR) entry
- Coordinate referrals and manage appointment follow-ups
- Ensure waiting area and front office are clean and organized
- Provide general administrative support to the clinical team as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ years of experience in a medical front office or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferably Athena One
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
