This is full performance electrical and mechanical maintenance repair activities on reclaim and wastewater treatment equipment, pumping stations and all related equipment.

What Will You Do?

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of mechanical equipment related to wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater pump stations and reclaimed water equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers and chemical feed systems.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Perform minor welding and fabrication of equipment.
  • Repair piping and fittings.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on wastewater process equipment, rotating equipment.
  • Generate order request for material procurement.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System, as a tool for work management.
  • Utilize computer and various software applications to perform job duties and payroll entries.
  • Maintain vehicle and inventory in a ready-stat for response.
  • Perform related work as assigned or required.

What Do You Need?

  • Completion of a two-year technical or vocational program in mechanical skilled or electrical trades in Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance; or
  • Two (2) years of journeyman experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy mechanical equipment and machinery in Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License B within 1-year of hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report.
  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
  • Perform Standby rotation and after-hours call-outs duties required for field operations or emergency events.
  • Participate in mandatory Emergency Response Plan Phase - 1 or Phase - 2 as delineated.
