Job Description

Position: Supply Management Specialist

Contract Length: One year with possible extension

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Work Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; flexible start time from 7 am to 9 am

Overview:

The Supply Management Specialist provides entry-level support for the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP). This includes developing and executing strategies and contracts for commodities of lower value and less complexity. The role involves assisting with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution, and other data analyses. The specialist works with Strategic Sourcing to address chronic supplier performance issues and validates suppliers during the early supplier selection process as part of EPDP. Utilizing the Achieving Excellence process, the specialist manages supplier performance. The work requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment but is reviewed periodically or upon completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with cost reduction activities, including analyzing quotations and making supplier selections based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time, and supplier stability.
  • Participate in implementing resourcing activities and make versus buy decisions.
  • Collect cost data and prepare supplier cost/industry analyses.
  • Support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process to ensure design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and execute inventory plans to achieve inventory/asset management and material flow goals.
  • Resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance and cost with the supply base using the Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
  • Define, resolve, and provide permanent solutions to supplier performance issues in collaboration with other functional representatives, such as quality and product engineering.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier relationship issues and ensure proper communication occurs.
  • Expedite parts as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Order Fulfillment principles and the ability to independently apply the knowledge.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Project management experience.
  • Formal education in Business, Finance/Accounting, Supply Management, or Engineering.
  • Recent graduates or graduates from the past couple of years are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of Supply Management experience.
