Our client is seeking a full-time Network Security Engineer to go onsite 3 days per week. The Network Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of all company IT equipment and networks. This position requires expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, controls, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and network security. This position is responsible for monitoring the changing threat landscape, monitoring compliance with security policies and practices, and both proactively and reactively responding to technology-based threats.

DUTIES:

  • Provide support for security and network functions, including Authentication, Authorization, Domain Services, Auditing, and Logging.
  • Perform firewall administration and direct hands-on operations.
  • Proactively identify and address security needs by implementing new processes, enhancements, applications, and services.
  • Manage, maintain, and deploy security monitoring tools across the organization.
  • Recommend policies, procedures, and technologies to proactively mitigate threats and address trends and findings from monitoring efforts.
  • Oversee security compliance and requirements throughout all stages of the system life cycle.
  • Administer the organization's penetration testing and vulnerability assessment programs, including audits.
  • Continuously monitor and respond to potential threats.
  • Implement and manage technologies and services to ensure the organization s readiness to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Develop and administer solutions for monitoring, enforcing, and remediating compliance with the organization's security policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluate and oversee technology implementations to ensure security safeguards are properly configured; perform remediation as needed.
  • Conduct routine vulnerability assessments to pinpoint cybersecurity weaknesses and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Analyze logs from diverse sources, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and servers, to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Primary tools/responsibilities: Security controls and frameworks (CIS/CSF), Network/switches and patching, Firewall administration, SSO integrations and Multifactor Authentication, Asset Management tools Log analysis / SIM tools, Vulnerability Scanning, Endpoint Detection and Response, Identity and Access Management, Active Directory Security


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in technology security, or an equivalent blend of education and relevant experience. Professional certifications like CISSP, CEH, or similar are preferred
  • Solid understanding of security, networking, and technology infrastructure concepts, along with familiarity with commonly used technologies and tools in these areas.

Proficient with Linux, Windows server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup and disaster recovery solutions, file systems, email server management, databases, and enterprise-scale applications.
