Overview

The Distribution & Commercial Development Director leads efforts to drive distribution channel strategy and commercial development across PMA minerals. This role is responsible for managing a $40MM distribution channel, driving revenue growth, optimizing channel performance, and expanding market share across the Americas. The director will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the paints, rubber, polymers, and building products markets.

Key Responsibilities

Distribution Management

  • Execute and adjust distribution strategy aligned with PMA objectives and market trends
  • Analyze channel partner performance and align support structures with business needs
  • Lead and mentor the distribution team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Establish strategic partnerships with key distributors, negotiating contracts and joint business plans
  • Develop and implement growth strategies with distribution channel partners
  • Oversee channel product/marketing strategies in collaboration with Product Managers and marketing team
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for distribution performance
  • Manage budget planning and financial performance of distribution channels
  • Spearhead sustainability initiatives within the distribution network
  • Collaborate with S&T to align product development with distribution capabilities

Commercial Development

  • Lead commercial development efforts for PRBP across minerals
  • Prioritize pipeline opportunities and transition to sales team
  • Work with sales directors and export sales manager to grow sales of specialty minerals
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to align growth pipeline with mine-to-market strategy
  • Conduct needs analysis and develop tailored solutions for clients
  • Generate leads through various channels and build a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sales, distribution management, or channel strategy, preferably in minerals or raw material/chemical sales
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful distribution strategies
  • Strong leadership and executive-level influence skills
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Well-established professional network within relevant industries
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective growth strategies
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including international travel
