Business Development Associate

Our client, a global institutional asset management firm headquartered in San Francisco, is seeking a Business Development Associate.

Position Overview

This role will be a key part of the Investor Relations team, contributing to sourcing, maintaining, and growing client relationships across various investor segments. The successful candidate will work both internally and with clients. They will communicate the firm's mission, investment strategy, and value proposition to external parties and be responsible for key strategic marketing initiatives. About 80% of the role will focus on business development, with the remaining 20% dedicated to related projects like data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support existing client coverage, including responding to inquiries, conducting monthly update calls, and sharing key business updates.
  • Produce materials for meetings with stakeholders related to business development opportunities.
  • Manage prospecting, pipeline management, and operational support for new business clients across the U.S., Canada, and South America.
  • Collaborate with investment and operational teams to produce materials for certain investment funds.
  • Assist in planning, producing, and executing the Annual Investor Meeting and other events/webcasts.
  • Handle other business development support duties as needed.
  • Grow over time to cover a specific investor channel or geography.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, marketing, and/or investment banking within finance.
  • Strong desire to build sales, marketing, and analytical skills while developing client relationships.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, writing, communication, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and judgment skills.
  • Self-starter with strong motivation and drive.
