Project Summary & Overview

This project involves migrating legacy applications from outdated platforms (e.g., Microsoft Server 2008 and later, IIS, SQL Server, ASP, ASP.Net) to modern Microsoft Servers. Up to 150 applications will be assessed for modernization, including modification, re-platforming, rebuilding, or decommissioning. All applications must be thoroughly tested on new technologies before legacy systems are retired. Participate in an initial 3-week onsite period, working 3 days per week. After the introductory period, work onsite 3 days per month, with potential for up to 3 additional days per month as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with testing efforts to ensure the successful migration of legacy applications to modern Microsoft Servers.
  • Execute test cases and report results, ensuring applications function as expected after migration.
  • Work with senior team members to develop an understanding of testing requirements.
  • Assist with documenting test results and identifying issues for further review.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide support during the testing phase period.

Required Skills:

  • Experience: Some experience in application testing, such as internships or coursework related to software quality assurance or technology projects.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft technologies (e.g., Microsoft Server, IIS, SQL Server, ASP, ASP.Net).
  • Willingness to learn how to create and execute test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to follow instructions and identify simple issues or bugs during testing.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.

Beneficial Skills (But Not Required):

  • Automation Tools: Exposure to automation tools like Selenium or SpecFlow is a plus, but not required.
  • Industry Experience: Any experience or exposure to government or public sector projects is beneficial.
  • Technical Curiosity: Eagerness to learn about legacy and modern Microsoft technologies.
