Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy scalable software components for big data processing systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement complex subsystems.
  • Conduct thorough testing (test-driven development) to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Support business users by addressing data and system requirements.
  • Work with Apache Spark for big data processing.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
  • Bring innovative ideas to improve processes and efficiency within the team.
  • Document and communicate project progress, metrics, and solutions.

Must Have:

  • 3-4+ years of experience in software or big data engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL or Python (Scala is a plus).
  • Experience with Apache Spark for big data processing.
  • A test-driven development mindset with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Cloud experience, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, especially fixed income.
