  • PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
    • Prepares documents for scanning by checking accuracy of patient identifier, checking integrity of both patient and document barcodes, printing document type forms and header/trailer forms as needed, and securely taping any strips to paper in preparation for feeding through the scanner.
    • Accurately performs manual indexing as evidenced by the proper location of the document.
    • Performs quality check to verify that all paper documents are imaged and all images are legible.
    • Scans all documents within 24 hours of receipt.
    • Maintains scanner by selecting the most appropriate scanning settings, cleaning the rollers and lenses, checking all moving parts, calibrating the scanner daily, clearing the paper path, and reporting any problems to the supervisor.
