Pay Range: $42,000 - $44,000 per year

The candidate will execute a range of laboratory duties, molecular biology procedures, reagent preparation, maintaining inventory of laboratory reagents and supplies, executing and documenting qualification and preventive maintenance procedures under supervision.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prepares reagents and solutions as directed, using appropriate procedural and documentation methods, including industry standard good laboratory practices.
  • Maintains all laboratory equipment, including qPCR instruments, Biological Safety Cabinets, pipettes, and spectrophotometers.
  • Responsible for procuring and maintaining R&D stockroom supplies and inventory.
  • Responsible for carrying out work to company and GLP standards, including good documentation practices, accurate record keeping, and maintaining related work schedules in order to support product development timelines.
  • Performs experiments and data analysis under supervision.
  • Analyze, record, and compile experimental results and reports in a laboratory notebook.
  • Present results at internal meetings as required, and propose new strategies and methods to address immediate and upcoming technical issues.
  • Adheres to the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with other internal departments, as necessary, to plan and expedite project objectives.
  • Responsible for the effective execution and relevancy of each documented process assigned.

  • BS degree in Biology or related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of molecular biology or biochemistry laboratory work experience
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of qPCR, assay formulation and development, aseptic technique, biological sample handling, nucleic acid purification, and molecular biology methods and techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent skills with Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience in a molecular biology or biochemistry laboratory.
  • First-hand experience with qPCR, assay formulation and development, biological sample handling, nucleic acid purification, and molecular biology methods and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Education: The ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Molecular biology.

Language Skills: Must be proficient in writing and communicating in the English language.

Mathematical Skills: Must be consistent with B.S. level education

Reasoning Ability: Good problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills are required.
