JOB TITLE: Learning Innovation Specialist Teacher Fellow Lead

DEPARTMENT: Learning Programs

REPORTS TO: Ed Farm Head of Learning Programs

STATUS: Full-time, 50% Remote

Job Purpose:

The Learning Innovation Specialist Teacher Fellow lead oversees the implementation, evaluation, and impact of the Ed Farm Teacher Fellowship program while fostering innovation to enhance teaching and learning outcomes. This role involves developing and implementing initiatives to enhance educator engagement and technology best practice adoption, as well as coordinating professional development opportunities for teachers and educational staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing professional learning, modeling high-impact teaching and learning strategies, co-teaching teacher fellowship participants and providing ongoing support to the Ed Farm DoLP staff and fellowship participants in designated partnership regions.

Expectations:

The day-to-day job responsibilities will fluctuate seasonally throughout the school year. Below is a list of the job responsibilities overall.

Travel as needed to support 50% remote Learning Innovation Specialist positions.

  • Standard availability Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 PM CST with the flexibility to book outside of standard business hours based on customer needs
  • Represent the Department of Learning Programs (DoLP) and Ed Farm and acts as the liaison with regional leadership and with contract partners/clients in the service region
  • Lead the implementation of the Teacher Fellowship in all designated service regions.
  • Support and facilitate collaboration with the DoLP team to ensure all committed contract SOW deliverables are met in the assigned service region
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including program participants, partners, and funders, to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with program operations, developing and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to program operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure coordination and alignment of program activities, especially the Programs Operations and Implementation Coordinator and the Instructional Designer.
  • Represent the program and organization in meetings, conferences, and other events as required.
  • Other duties that pertain to training and the trainer's personal areas of strength

Professional Learning

Ensure professional learning is aligned with program objectives.

Tasks Or Duties To Accomplish Outcomes:

Regularly review and adjust coaching content to align with the objectives of making Teacher Fellows Apple Teacher Certified, expert designers of challenge-based learning and supporting and training Student Fellow Lead teachers, etc.

Introduction to Innovation Course

Ensure delivery of student programming in a co-design and co-teach model aligned with program objectives.

Tasks Or Duties To Accomplish Outcomes:

Maintain course materials, activities and lead teacher support that is directly linked to the overarching goals of the program, ensuring consistency and relevance throughout the course.

Coaching Hours and Engagement Provide effective coaching to Teacher Fellows.

Provide effective coaching to Teacher Fellows.

Tasks Or Duties To Accomplish Outcomes:

Conduct at least 8 coaching sessions per Teacher Fellow over the 12-month fellowship period, documented through session guidebook and feedback.

Management and Collaboration

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among cohort participants, district staff, and community stakeholders.

Tasks Or Duties To Accomplish Outcomes:

Work with the Ed Farm team, district leaders, state , and other community stakeholders to support program goals and Ed Farm initiatives.

Policy Compliance and Accountability Alignment

Ensure compliance with local, state, and national education standards, regulations, and policies related to curriculum and assessment.

Tasks Or Duties To Accomplish Outcomes:

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and assessment strategies.

Quarterly

HOW POSITION WILL BE EVALUATED:

Evaluations will occur twice yearly. Informal evaluations will also be conducted as needed during 1:1 meetings.

REQUIRED SKILLS, BEHAVIOR, AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Apple's 'Everyone Can Code' , 'Everyone Can Create' K-12 curriculum , Alabama's Course of Study for Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards
  • Experience with instructional design and innovative technology integration pertaining to K-12 digital literacy, computer science, and core content curriculum.
  • Ability to consistently communicate with diverse groups of leaders, teachers, and students. Able to navigate complexity of various communities and clearly share the mission, vision, values, and Department of Learning programs.
  • Strong skill set using Apple products including: MacBook, iMac, iPad, iPad Pro, Apple TV and in using Apple apps to support students and teachers in creating high quality learning experiences and artifacts of learning.
  • Design and implement various assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments, to monitor student and teacher learning progress.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify trends, areas for improvement, opportunities for continuous improvement, and personalized instruction.
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to align curriculum and assessment practices with the organization's overall strategic goals.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, both virtually and face to face.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national education standards, regulations, and policies related to curriculum and assessment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and assessment strategies.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate outcomes, progress, and challenges to key stakeholders. Serve as a resource for instructional materials, teaching methodologies, and assessment best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, technology integration, curriculum design ,instruction, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience and coaching is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of instructional technology coaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data related to student learning outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of educational standards, instructional methodologies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive instructional decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel statewide and nationally.
