Position Title: Snowflake Data Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract : 12+ months with possibility of extension
Job Description:
  • 12+ years experience in IT and atleast 5+ years' experience working as a Snowflake Data Architect in HealthCare Domain
  • Experience on end-to-end implementation of Snowflake cloud data warehouse.
  • Expertise in Snowflake data modelling, ELT using Snowflake SQL, implementing complex stored Procedures and standard DWH and ETL concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL and SnowPipe and in deploying Snowflake features.
  • Experience in Data Migration from RDBMS to Snowflake cloud data warehouse.
  • Deep understanding of relational as well as NoSQL data stores, methods and approaches (star and snowflake, dimensional modelling).
  • Experience with data security and data access controls and design.
  • Data Tokenization/detokenization mechanisms in Snowflake: A candidate for this job should be familiar with data masking techniques such as tokenization and detokenization. They should be able to implement these mechanisms to secure sensitive data in Snowflake.
  • Data Integration from Snowflake to other relational databases: The candidate should have experience with processes and tools, and should be proficient in migrating and integrating data between Snowflake and other relational databases like MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience with some cloud platform (AWS/Google Cloud Platform): To work efficiently with Snowflake, it would be beneficial if the individual has experience with cloud platforms where Snowflake is commonly hosted, like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). They should understand how to manage and administer resources on these platforms.
  • Understanding of Dynamic SQL in Snowflake: The candidate should be comfortable with constructing SQL queries dynamically and executing them within stored procedures
  • Ability to design Stored Procedures: Extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing stored procedures in Snowflake is vital. This includes writing complex SQL scripts and handling exceptions properly.
  • Data-Driven Framework Design: The candidate should have experience in designing and implementing data-driven frameworks for data loads. They should know how to automate these loads effectively, handle errors, and optimize for performance.
  • DDL Repositories: The candidate should have experience working with DDL (Data Definition Language) repositories. They should understand how to store, version, and manage DDL scripts that define database schemas, tables, views, etc. Knowledge of version control systems like Git can be beneficial in this context.
  • CI/CD: The candidate should also know how to implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines. They should understand practices like automated testing, automated builds, and automated deployments. Awareness of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo or others could be important.
  • Proficiency in RDBMS, complex SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, performance tuning and troubleshoot.
  • Certified Snowflake cloud data warehouse Architect (Desirable).
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, technical and trouble-shooting skills
