Job Description
We are seeking a high performing National Institutes of Health (NIH) Business Development Lead with a proven network with leaders across the NIH and strong relationship building skills that will facilitate
achievement of the company s long-term business development goals. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with corporate team and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to generate and develop ideas and pursue strategic relationships with partners, potential NIH customers, and existing
clients.
Develop, analyze, and implement marketing and Business Development (BD) programs; and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
Perform business development, capture, and develop collateral and presentations along with the technical team members for business development, capture, proposal responses and client
positioning strategies.
Identify, qualify, and support capture and closure of business opportunities in collaboration with business and capture teams.
Develop and maintain pipeline of opportunities, new customers, and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across existing customers and other BD opportunities.
Demonstrate effective account communications and processes and play a leadership role in pursuits and an oversight role in the development of proposals.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert capable of explaining our differentiated capabilities at industry events, conferences, etc.
Requirements: Knowledge and experience in federal contracting within the health industry and business
development experience. The individual must be a team player who can drive business development
strategies working with the technical teams. Excellent influencing and negotiating skills are necessary.
Leads and develops new business opportunities, oversees capture activities, price-to-win, GWAC, Growth Operations (data, metrics, budget, compliance), proposals, and marketing efforts.
Demonstrable ability to leverage pre-existing network of clients or contacts in the marketplace.
Working knowledge of competitive and teaming landscape; proven ability to assemble competitive teams.
Expertise in driving call plans and developing value propositions.
Working knowledge of solutions such as Agile, DevSecOps, Digital Transformation, etc.
The candidate must be proactive, have a positive and confident approach backed by tenacity and commitment.
Proven ability to make compelling and persuasive presentations.
Excellent client service and communication skills.
Knowledge of TechnoMile is a plus
Local to the DC Metro area and able to travel as needed for conferences, industry events, and customer meetings.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor s degree or equivalent with 12+ years extensive professional knowledge with progressive leadership experience. MBA preferred.
10+ years of direct work and/or contracting experience with an in-depth understanding of NIH
