OVERVIEW

As the leader of the Global Architecture & Platforms Department, you will lead and motivate the team responsible for the shared platforms and practices that empower technology teams. You will play a pivotal role in co-creating and accelerating the implementation of global architecture vision in partnership with the CIO and Technology leadership team. You will work cross-functionally to drive collaborative roadmaps that unlock system capabilities ahead of when Solution Delivery teams require them . You will ensure our technology teams have the right architectures, tools, and platforms required to deliver in a secure, standardized, and operationally scalable manner, establishing a governance framework that will allow teams to make architectural decisions locally without risking the greater context. You will leverage your expertise in architecture, enterprise API and integration, and engineering practices and tools to establish communities of practice and oversee the evolution of our technology systems and processes to ensure they scale to meet the needs of our business globally. Your leadership will accelerate the implementation of global architecture blueprint, fostering innovation and enabling to achieve long-term strategic goals. LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. GLOBAL ARCHITECTURE STRATEGY [MC]

To set the vision of Platform Engineering, prioritizing the right opportunities at the right time.

  1. a) Innovation Establish the approach for and lead the team to drive innovation across the platform enablement organization, and continually look for ways to deliver at scale through new solutions, patterns, and paradigms.
  2. b) Strategic Alignment Lead the team to collaborate with Technology and Digital leadership to drive standardization, consolidation, and reusability across our technology system portfolio and build multi-year architecture roadmaps to build strategic alignment.
  3. c) Standards & Governance Establish the approach for and lead the team to create a distributed governance framework that will lay the foundation for architecture standards and collaborate with teams to ensure they conform to the framework.
  4. d) ROI Lead the team to effectively and efficiently deliver cost-effective and high-value programs globally.
  5. e) Service Levels Establish the approach for and lead the team to define a global incident lifecycle blueprint that can easily be adopted by teams to deliver simple, consistent, and effective L0/L1/L2/L3 service levels, in partnership with Solution Delivery and Service Excellence teams.
  1. TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT MANAGEMENT [MC]

To optimize the value of technology solutions for our customers & business by efficiently delivering high-quality solutions.

  1. a) Technology Product Ownership Lead the team to own the backlog and roadmap for the various technical products managed within the Global Architecture & Platforms organization, ensuring integration with the broader Technology roadmap.
  2. b) Technology Product Development Establish the product development methodology your team will adopts to ensure the right solutions are delivered effectively.
  3. c) Technology Product Delivery Lead Feature Delivery teams responsible for delivering enterprise APIs and reusable templates and frameworks for other groups across the organization to adopt; lead Service Delivery teams responsible for ensuring excellent operations for the various systems within your purview.
  1. ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE [MC]

To leverage IT capabilities, business processes, and governing principles for the delivery of flexible and resilient solutions.

  1. a) Business Architecture Lead the team to establish key business processes that help with change management across initiatives.
  2. b) Data Architecture Lead the team to partner closely with Data & Analytics partners to formulate a robust data architecture for use within enterprise integrations.
  3. c) Integration Architecture Establish the approach for and lead the team to provide tools and frameworks that allow other technology teams to deliver their own APIs and workflows that leverage cloud workloads (on Google) and are secured by design through Cloudflare.
  4. d) Solution Architecture Lead a team of solution architects that will collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure that the architecture supports business processes and objectives.
  5. e) Security Architecture Lead the team to collaborate closely with our Cybersecurity team to ensure solutions comply with security guidelines and establish the approach for a global Secure Software Delivery Lifecycle blueprint that can be easily adopted by teams to deliver secure technical solutions.
  1. ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION [MC]

To provide teams with more training and ownership of integrations to drive scalability, productivity, and standardization.

  1. a) Enterprise APIs Establish the approach for and lead the team to build reusable, scalable, and secure enterprise APIs, enabling delivery teams to build their own APIs using enterprise certified tools, frameworks, and templates.
  2. b) API Management Establish the approach for and lead the team to deliver systems that allow for the cataloguing, securing, monitoring, and scaling of APIs.
  3. c) Self-Service Establish the approach for and lead the team to shift left in the practice of building APIs away from a centralized Technology team and into the different product domains that exist.
  1. CLOUD ENGINEERING & DEVSECOPS [MC]

To standardize the software development lifecycle and deliver more value to clients with higher quality and efficient spending.

  1. a) Google Cloud Engineering Establish the approach for and lead the team to develop best practices around Google Cloud Engineering, in partnership with the Cloud & Infrastructure team.
  2. b) Build & Deploy Automation Establish the approach for and lead the team to own CI/CD processes based on GitHub Actions and deliver composable, reusable actions and workflows to quickly set teams up with their own build & deploy process.
  3. c) Observability & Monitoring Establish the approach for and lead the team to own the Observability & Monitoring stack and become subject matter experts around the use of Datadog and PagerDuty; establish a framework for teams to define their own SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs and provide the necessary skillsets to enable teams to create their own dashboards, alerting mechanisms, and incident orchestration through PagerDuty; partner with our Service Excellence team to ensure that incidents are captured and managed through ServiceNow.
  4. d) QA Automation Establish the approach for and lead the team to provide expertise around QA Automation leveraging tools such as Postman, TestRail and Cypress.io.
  1. DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT [MC]
  2. a) People Management Lead and advance our people, maximizing their results through the 10 areas: Planning, Hiring, Onboarding, Evaluating, Developing, Engaging, Scheduling, Compensating, Transitioning, and Mitigating.
  3. b) Operations Management Lead the day-to-day department priorities and net new initiatives by championing quality output, encouraging timely results, implementing a methodical approach, and setting up clear accountability across the team .
  4. c) Technology Management Set the standard for high quality technology management, ensure current systems are maintained and continuously improved, and identify, evaluate, and drive opportunities to secure future investments in technology
  5. d) Finance Management Lead the team to proactively maximize the department's financial performance, strategically leading opportunities to drive revenue growth and capitalize on smart spending opportunities.
  6. e) Analytics Management Leverage reporting to identify opportunities, predict future outcomes, and improve the department's and organization's performance. Throughout the course of employment, additional duties and responsibilities may be amended as required.

  • Ability to translate company business strategy into concrete solutions, design and execute an IT systems architecture blueprint to support that strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership while developing and maintaining relationships with Product Managers, Solution Engineers, and Technical Architects.
  • Proven capability to communicate with all levels from front-line engineers to senior leaders.
  • Participate in cross-company strategic technology initiatives.

TECHNICAL:

Firm understanding of engineering and high-availability design.

  • Firm understanding of various software development lifecycles. Experience with SCRUM, agile and waterfall.
  • Demonstrated ability to research and learn modern technologies and business processes independently and apply them as needed.
  • Possesses the necessary knowledge, skills, and/or educational experience to be successful in the specific job function. (Skills, Education, Certifications)

o Setting up Distributed Architecture Governance

o Work Management (Atlassian Suite inc. Jira, Confluence, etc.)

o Version Control software (GitHub, Bitbucket)

o CI / CD Tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible)

o Testing Automation (Cypress, TestRail)

o Experience with leveraging DevOps principles and methodologies in an Enterprise Technology Environment which includes applications such as SAP and Workday

o Software Development Language(s) and Tools (SAP ABAP, Java, JavaScript, Groovy, REST, JSON)

o API management and integration software and services (SAP Process Integration, SAP Integration Suite, Apigee X, SnapLogic)

  • Highly data driven and had experience influencing & onboarding teams to measure their delivery velocity & quality using DORA metrics.
