TITLE: INCREMENTAL WATERFALL TRAINER, MUST BE CULTURE FIT

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Remote with travel or Deerfield hybrid ideal

Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Incremental Waterfall Trainer to educate and mentor multiple teams on a large, complex program to effectively implement Incremental Waterfall methodology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional Waterfall project management combined with experience in iterative, incremental delivery methods.

Process modeling is a critical part of our design methodology. You will also be responsible for designing and delivering training that helps our teams effectively model, analyze, and optimize business processes.

As an Incremental Waterfall Trainer, you will be instrumental in guiding teams through a structured approach to meet our program goals while allowing for incremental delivery and continuous feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and Development: Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of various teams within the program:
    • Incremental Waterfall methodology
    • BPMN 2.0 modeling and analysis
  • Coaching and Support: Provide ongoing support and coaching to teams as they implement the Incremental Waterfall approach, helping them navigate the balance between structured phases and incremental delivery.
  • Methodology Implementation: Guide teams in applying the Incremental Waterfall model, ensuring clear planning, execution, and evaluation at each phase of the program, with iterative feedback and refinement.
  • Process Modeling Guidance: Use BPMN 2.0 to create detailed models of existing and proposed business processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in representation. Assist teams in creating and analyzing business process models using BPMN 2.0, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across the program.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with teams to refine and optimize their processes, integrating the best aspects of both Waterfall and incremental delivery to achieve program goals efficiently.
  • Material Development: Create and maintain training materials, including presentations, guides, checklists, and templates that illustrate the principles and best practices of Incremental Waterfall project management and BPMN 2.0 process analysis.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of program training, providing feedback and adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support communication with stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations are set for both the structured phases and the incremental delivery of program deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality checks and reviews during each phase of the program, ensuring that incremental deliverables consistently meet standards and align with overall program goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the program teams, encouraging the adoption of incremental improvements based on feedback and program outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Waterfall iterative/incremental delivery methodologies; at least 2 years of experience in a training, coaching, or mentoring role.
  • BPMN 2.0 Expertise: Deep knowledge of BPMN 2.0, including experience in modeling, analyzing, and optimizing business processes using this standard.
  • Methodology Expertise: Strong understanding of both traditional Waterfall project management and iterative/incremental delivery methods, with the ability to blend these approaches effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with BPMN 2.0 modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucid) and related software.
  • Training Skills: Proven experience in developing and delivering effective training programs, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and tailor content to different learning styles.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging and motivating diverse teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to evaluate program performance and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, adjusting training and coaching methods to suit the evolving needs of the teams and program.
  • Cultural Fit: Strong alignment with the company s values and mission, enhancing team productivity, reducing burnout, and fostering a positive, sustainable work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in coaching or mentoring roles, particularly in environments that blend traditional and iterative project management methods.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps (ADO) for requirements management, or other tools that support both Waterfall and incremental approaches.
