CME Associates, a leading engineering and consulting firm in Parlin, NJ, is seeking a highly skilled Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various construction aspects, ideally, pile driving, including sheet pile, and concrete formwork & reinforcement. Experience in water main, storm sewer, paving, and civil site work is a plus. As an Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Inspections: Perform on-site inspections to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily reports, photographs, and inspection logs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on materials, workmanship, and construction processes to ensure conformance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Contractors: Communicate regularly with contractors to address concerns, provide guidance, and facilitate the resolution of construction-related issues.
  • Compliance Oversight: Monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and permit conditions.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to project managers and clients, highlighting milestones achieved and potential delays.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve construction-related problems promptly to minimize project disruptions and maintain schedule adherence.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction inspection, preferably in the areas of pile driving, concrete work, water main, storm sewer, paving, and civil site work.
  • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, NICET certifications, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions in a dynamic construction environment.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
