We are looking for a dedicated Network Engineer to join our team for a long-term contract role in Fairfax, VA. You’ll be responsible for configuring and installing various network devices and services, performing system upgrades, and ensuring the availability and reliability of the network infrastructure.
In this role, you'll provide Level 2/3 support, troubleshoot network issues, and work within established configuration and change management policies. Additionally, you'll implement security tools and policies in collaboration with the security team, and coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for issue resolution.

You’ll be responsible for configuring and installing various network devices and services, performing system upgrades, and ensuring the availability and reliability of the network infrastructure.
In this role, you'll provide Level 2/3 support, troubleshoot network issues, and work within established configuration and change management policies. Additionally, you'll implement security tools and policies in collaboration with the security team, and coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel for issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and install routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and QoS.
- Perform network maintenance, system upgrades, and apply security configurations.
- Monitor performance, resource utilization, and conduct capacity planning.
- Provide Level-2/3 support for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Ensure changes to the network infrastructure comply with established policies.
- Collaborate with the security team to implement tools, policies, and procedures.
- Liaise with vendors and IT personnel to address issues.
- 4-6 years of hands-on network engineering experience.
- CCNP or higher certification (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Familiarity with IP Address Management, DHCP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Strong understanding of the OSI/TCP/IP model.
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, Splunk).
- Cisco routers and switches (ASR, Nexus, Catalyst).
- Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, and Mist.
- PaloAlto security products.
- F5 Viprion (Load balancing and DNS).
- VM NSX-T and AVI Load Balancer.
- InfoBlox IPAM, DNS, and DHCP.
- SolarWinds NPM.
