A well known MSP in the Philly/Tri State area is in search of a versatile and skilled Field Engineer with expertise in both systems and network engineering.

This role involves providing on-site and remote support, troubleshooting, and installation of IT systems and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both areas, coupled with exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients. Key Responsibilities:
  • On-Site Support: Perform on-site installations, configurations, and troubleshooting of IT systems and network infrastructure. Address and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • System & Network Integration: Work with clients to integrate and optimize systems and network solutions. Ensure compatibility and performance of both hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues. Provide detailed documentation and reports on findings and resolutions.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct regular maintenance and upgrades of systems and network components. Implement patches, updates, and new features as required.
  • Client Interaction: Act as a technical liaison between the client and the company. Provide excellent customer service, including training and support to end-users as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including support engineers and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions and meet client expectations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all installations, configurations, and support activities. Create and update technical documentation and reports.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in a similar role with a strong background in both systems and network engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in system administration (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
    • Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches).
    • Experience with network security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
    • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Ability to configure and troubleshoot network equipment and servers.
  • Certifications (Preferred but not required):
    • CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar.
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
