Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Engineering who will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the engineering function within our food & beverage manufacturing operations. This role requires a dynamic individual with a blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and industry experience to drive operational excellence, optimize production processes, and implement innovative solutions that align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the food and beverage industry, with highly skilled leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Major Capital Expenditure Projects: Responsible for overseeing major capital expansion projects, providing leadership and guidance to ensure successful execution and management.

Manage Project Schedules and Resources: Oversee the master project schedule, including the allocation of resources for both team members and contractors.

Coordinate and Communicate Project Plans: Develop & disseminate project plans across the organization, and actively participate in business disruption planning related to capital implementation.

Ensure Comprehensive Project Documentation: Ensure the team develops and maintains all project documentation, including project plans, status reports, issue logs, cost tracking, schedules, and quality metrics, and that this documentation is clearly communicated throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain Site Master Plans: Oversee the maintenance of site master plans & conceptual layouts to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Travel and Project Management: Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to manage projects at various locations as required.

Promote Safety Culture: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by fostering a culture of safety within the team and ensuring a safe work environment through management and supervisory accountability.

Drive Process and Packaging Improvements: Develop & support strategic initiatives for process and packaging line improvements aimed at enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), increasing yields, and reducing costs.

Optimize Engineering Documentation Systems: Enhance & streamline documentation systems and processes to improve engineering efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering Degree

Minimum of 10 years of experience within the food & beverage manufacturing industry

Proven track record of successful project management and process optimization in a manufacturing environment.

Packaging Systems, Conveyers, and Project Management experience

Experience in wastewater treatment is preferred, but a strong willingness to learn and develop proficiency in this area is required.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.

Expertise in manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies specific to the food and beverage industry.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
