LearningMate helps K-12 organizations create digital content that is personalized, accessible, and engaging. We are looking for highly qualified digital media arts instructors to work with our team over the next 2 months as we develop a comprehensive and engaging Digital Media course for US-based students in grades 9 to 12 who are looking to attain industry-based certification in digital media and design through the art and animation pathway. This is the first, introductory course.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for supporting the team and the stakeholders by actively contributing to a robust, engaging Digital Media course.

You will focus on the design, development, and implementation of proprietary content based on your expertise in this specific subject area and grade range. You will be working with the Curriculum Director, Instructional Designer, and Project Managers to provide support related but not limited to, outlining, authoring, and editing:

  • course alignment with the standards bodies, specifically Career and Technical Education Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (CTE TEKS) for Arts and Adobe Certified Professional skills and knowledge;
  • desired student experience for the course and overall pedagogy;
  • course units and lessons;
  • lesson structure and content;
  • media storyboards; teacher course guides; and
  • assessment (traditional and performance-based tasks) and projects (PBL Gold Standard).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Digital/Fine Arts, or related field
  • Background or certification (Adobe preferred) in digital media, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and InDesign
  • Solid awareness of pedagogy and skills in digital arts, graphic design, illustration, animation, or closely related discipline
  • Have experience in developing digital content to teach graphic design, animation, or other digital arts topics

Experience: minimum 3 to 5 years in teaching, specifically for high school students

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in curriculum writing, assessment writing, quality course development, and academic standards alignment with an emphasis on learning accessibility (e.g., Universal Design for Learning)
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Substantial word processing, spreadsheet, and online authoring system skills
  • Experience in designing developmentally appropriate instruction in Career and Technical Education
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Products such as Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Premiere Pro

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in planning and implementing Gold Standard Project Based Learning
  • Instructional design experience
  • Online teaching experience
