Job Summary

The Gifts and Compliance Lead will manage various Gift Administration & Compliance Department initiatives with a keen focus on ensuring processes and procedures related to charitable contributions received and processed by the Foundation for the benefit of the University of Colorado honor donor intent. The Gifts and Compliance Lead serves as a liaison among University advancement, University partners, and Foundation Finance & Accounting to ensure gift documentation received through the gift agreement workflow as well as other channels are reviewed in a timely manner, adhere to established Foundation policies, follow IRS rules and regulations, CASE guidelines, as well as other industry standards. This position assists in the administration of gift compliance coding, and audits as well as projects and assignments that are complex in nature, require judgment, analysis, and initiative to resolve problems.

Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the timely and efficient management of multiple areas of the daily gift administration and compliance department workflow, including overseeing the coordination of activities, investigating, resolving problems, and handling special projects
  • Serve as central resource and expert for all gift agreements on behalf of the Foundation, in close collaboration with System Gift Administration. This includes the review, revising and editing of gift agreements, including facilitating the collaborative review of complex documents by necessary Foundation and University staff
  • Manage the gift agreement workflow which includes reviewing agreements, answering questions, and serving as a liaison for external partners
  • Work in close collaboration with System Advancement’s Director of Gift Administration on the day-to-day functionality of the Gift Administration and Compliance departments
  • Facilitate gift administration and compliance department focused campus outreach and training

  • Assist with special projects as requested

Education/Experience

Required

  • Associates Degree and/or equivalent life, military and/or professional experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a related field and in a professional office environment
  • Proficient user of technology, particularly Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred

  • Advancement/fundraising experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Hybrid schedule

  • Overtime may be required as well as PTO may not be approved at fiscal and calendar year end
  • Work in an office environment requiring light physical effort by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently with or without accommodations
  • Stationary at a desk for most of the day, working with standard office equipment (such as phone, copier/scanner, and personal computer) with or without accommodations.

Compensation Package

The hiring salary range for this position is: $71,100-83,700. Starting salary is based on education, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, a full and competitive benefits package, which includes:
