Opportunity:

Production Technicians assemble a quota of custom products and battery packs on a manufacturing line to match a client's specifications and applications. They also prepare, operate, and maintain equipment on the manufacturing floor, including routine maintenance and basic repairs to keep the space and equipment in good working order. They will inspect and perform quality control evaluations in many parts of the production cycle to ensure that products meet established standards. They are responsible for ensuring that the facility maintains a safe and healthy work environment and for filling out production logs and other documentation. They work as part of a team and collaborate well with other departments to design and assemble the products. They also continuously improve established processes by offering critical feedback when appropriate.

What You'll Do:

  • Assemble a quota of custom products/battery packs to client specifications.
  • Assemble and build complex products to exacting standards using hand, power, and automated manufacturing tools including air and hydraulic torque tools.
  • Build products to print by following a variety of work instructions, including production drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, notes, photos, etc.
  • Multitask between multiple projects on multiple workstations at different stages of production on any given day.
  • Conduct tests on products for quality and accuracy, like running computer scripts to validate battery packs.
  • Clean and equip workstations with the necessary tools and materials.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move parts in and out of workstations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with established standards and processes and notifying team leads of any safety issues and risks.
  • Use and maintain personal PPE and safety equipment; follow all safety processes and standards.
  • Maintain consumption and waste records as well as filling out the daily logbook.
  • Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements and interface with other departments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other Stafl Systems teams (Quality, Engineering, Project Management departments, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. daily.
  • Safely standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, and performing repetitive tasks 8-10 hours a day.
  • Reading small print on labels and recording data, excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Safely following OSHA's standards and requirements for working with high and low voltage equipment and products.

It's Important to Us That You Have:

  • 2+ years of manufacturing and line assembly experience or other relevant experience.
  • Ability to follow a variety of work instructions, including manufacturing instructions, production drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, notes, photos, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing machinery and tools; i.e. hand tools, light machinery, soldering, etc.
  • Experience with wire harnessing.
  • Experience testing products to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to follow production schedules and think critically about the process.
  • Willingness to offer critical feedback when appropriate.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills (email, work instructions, running scripts to validate battery packs, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.

It Would Be Great If You Had:

  • Experience in the battery/EV industry.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience with laser welding.
  • Experience with Hazmat and Safety procedures.
  • Experience with EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety).
  • Equipment maintenance experience (calibrating, cleaning, troubleshooting, etc.).
