Job Description
Responsible for managing the IT people, processes, and tools that support Clinical Applications for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Position Summary Serves as the area leader in the planning, design, development, and support for clinical applications. Manages teams responsible for the design, build, testing, implementation, system upgrades, model enhancements, maintenance, and support of the OSUWMC?s clinical applications to ensure levels of stability, reliability and acceptable performance. This is an application leadership position with required skill sets to manage systems analysts and system consultants for clinical application strategic direction, and application design, development, implementation and support. Coordinates major initiatives, including system upgrades, new implementations, expansion of use and breadth of application functionality. Manages projects involving high clinical/safety and/or business risk, scope and impact to the organization; leads and facilitates strategic projects involved in evaluating and researching new and existing products, procedures and/or workflows needs associated with clinical applications. Individual serves as a subject matter expert and manager for clinical applications strategies, procedures, policies, and methodologies. Individual provides direction and insight to leaders, peers and team members regarding the identification and alignment of strategic clinical application requirements with evolving application, information technology/business opportunities. Recognized across the organization for expertise and sought as a source for resolution of unique or the most complex systems problems. This role reports to the Director of Clinical Applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Allied Health, Computer Sciences or related field, and 5 years of experience in Applications Technology leadership, Management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrates a fundamental knowledge of various application technologies and tools. Demonstrates the traits to manage people, processes and is required. Strong skills in management, team building, and communications is required. Deep understanding of hospital and/or clinical operations. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, peers, executive leadership, customers, vendors and others. -Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
