IT Business Analyst

Location: St. Louis, MO
Description: Our client is currently seeking a IT Business Analyst on a contract to hire basis. This position will require hybrid/in-office capability in the St. Louis market.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will consult with clients to identify business process and system changes, develop well-defined requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions for projects with limited scope and risk. This role involves translating solutions into comprehensive system designs, analyzing project effects, and preparing management recommendations to improve business functions and streamline systems.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with clients in specified functional areas (Oracle E-Business Suite, IBM Maximo, GIS, etc.) to identify business process and system changes.
• Assist clients in developing well-defined requirements to meet business needs.
• Recommend the most appropriate solutions for projects with limited scope and risk after evaluating all alternatives.
• Translate solutions into comprehensive system designs in collaboration with development staff and/or external consultants.
• Analyze the effects of limited-risk and small-sized projects to ensure effective integration into existing systems and processes.
• Prepare recommendations for management approval, including ways to improve business functions and streamline systems.
• Utilize and apply functional knowledge in the design, implementation, and documentation of system changes.
• Design, configure, test, and implement system changes, working with business and technical resources.
• Engage with internal and external resources to develop requirements and resolve production issues.
• Develop and execute report queries based on business process and functional knowledge.
• Participate in developing and enforcing standards, procedures, and methodologies to keep business systems operating on schedule and within budget.
• Understand the industry, relationships with governmental bodies, and stakeholders' expectations for performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related area from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in the design and implementation of commercial software (Oracle EBS, Maximo, GIS, GXP, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of the life cycle and methodology of systems development.
• General business knowledge in assigned functional areas.
• Experience with Enterprise Software Packages (Oracle EBS, Maximo, GIS, GXP, etc.).
• Hands-on experience developing requirements and configuring ERP and other software packages.
• Advanced understanding and practice of task and project management.
• Solid understanding of IT department systems and capabilities.
