The HoloLens Electrical Engineering Team (located in Mountain View, CA) is responsible for taking ideas off the drawing board and turning them into finished products. We design from the ground up boards, flexes, batteries, and cables, and combine them into a product. We then support design validation, and new product integration through manufacturing ramp. The Electrical Engineer II will focus on designing form factor logic boards, form factor flexes, and development boards for current and future generation projects. You will own these work items from the block-diagram stage through schematic, layout, manufacturing, and validation. You will support these work items cross functionally with mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, electromagnetic compatibility and other groups.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience
    • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) of technical engineering experience
  • 1+ year experience owning schematics and layout for a PCB/RFPC.
  • 1+ year experience selecting and validating components for an analog/digital circuit.

Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of Electrical Engineering experience in a product design role.
  • Excellent lab and debugging skills.
  • Working knowledge of a schematic entry tool (preferably Cadence System Capture), basic C/C++, and Python.


Electrical Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
