Interns will be placed with our Aerospace Electro-Mechanical Systems (AEMS) or our Industrial Electro-Mechanical Systems (IEMS) teams within our Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Division. You can find more information about our NVH Division at ;/strong>

Our anticipated Internship dates are May 19, 2025 -- August 1 2025. All internships will be onsite 5 days a week in Cary, NC.

Responsibilities

The intern will report to the Industrial Market Sr. Principal Business Development Engineer and will support the Industrial Application Engineering and Business Development activities.

The Cary Engineering team designs, tests, and manufactures magnetorheological fluid-based devices. The primary focus of this internship will be to support the steer-by-wire product line. Responsibilities include: designing test setups, evaluating new sensor and motor technologies, and developing user interfaces for controlling these devices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

The requirements to be part of the Programs are:
  • GPA 3.0 or better
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills and a "can do" attitude.
  • Strong analytical, mechanical conceptualization, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Strong innovation and creative thinking, self-motivated.
  • Detail oriented individual with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).


Preferred Requirements:
  • Rising Junior
  • Experience with Electromechanical Design as well as knowledge of control theory, signal processing, and embedded software.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience working on mechanical design using Autodesk Inventor
