ETS Virtualization Administrator

We are hiring an ETS Virtualization Administrator to support the US House of Representatives, Office of House Information Resources, Enterprise Operation & Facilities, Enterprise Technology Systems (ETS) Branch for a one year federal program contract.
The Virtualization Administrator will exclusively focus on Enterprise Operations / ETS - Virtual Systems projects, such as (but not limited to):

• Virtual Server Infrastructure Technical Support and Administration
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Technical Support and Administration
• Kubernetes Cluster Infrastructure Technical Support and Administration
• Virtual Machine Replication and Recovery Administration and Technical Support.

Scope of work to include:

• Update Windows Templates security updates and bugfixes as needed.
• Monitor Remedy ticket queue and process needed server builds, virtual hardware resource changes and system decommissions.
• Configure virtual server replication and support RecoverPoint for VM consistency groups and snapshot retention policies.
• Participate in Virtual Servers failover/failback activities.
• Perform virtual server troubleshooting and end user support as needed.
• Deployment of on-prem Kubernetes Clusters
• Administration of on-prem Kubernetes Clusters
• Support Microsoft and Redhat Linux Server Operating Systems.
• Configure, Maintain and Troubleshoot hypervisors within the virtual Infrastructure.
• Configure, Maintain and Troubleshoot the virtual Infrastructure
• Implement & maintain security hardening CIS guidance for virtual Infrastructure
• Understanding the RMF process
• Ability update and create SOP documentation
• Plan design and implement hosting strategies using best practices while maintaining uptime and availability of all systems.
• Plan design and implement hardware firmware upgrade strategies using best practices while maintaining uptime and availability of all systems.
• Participate in efforts to upgrade Firmware on hardware supporting the Virtual infrastructure.
• Analyze system logs and security events during troubleshooting scenarios and while compiling usage data, using the centralized Syslog repository.
• Build queries and script reports that will facilitate the analysis of log data across multiple platforms.
• Participate in On-Call rotation

Requirements/Experience: The offeror s response should identify how the candidate meets the below requirements.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (+5 years) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or similar relevant degree.
  • Candidates must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by management.

  • Excel, Spreadsheet Software Experience
  • PowerShell or general scripting experience
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience working with the following technologies:
  • VMWare (by Broadcom) Products (examples: vCenter, vSphere, Other)
  • Omnissa (formerly VMware) Products (examples: Workspace One, Horizon VDI, Other
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and/or Linux Based Server Operating Systems
  • Dell and/or HPE Blade/Rack Server Hardware
  • Preferred, but not required - Kubernetes Container Infrastructure (examples: Tanzu, Docker, other)

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

• Start Time 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM. .
• On-Call and after-hours support by the Virtualization Administrator will be assigned by Enterprise
• Operations and Facilities Management.
• Actively working on an on-call issue or providing after-hours support outside of normal business hours will be tracked by the Virtualization Administrator / Centurion Representative and will apply to the maximum 40 hours for the Work Week.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:

• The candidate shall work on-site at the Ford House Office Building in Washington, DC and require regular travel to a site in the Northern VA area.
• Some work may be performed off-site at the discretion of the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
