Ponte Family Estate Winery opened in 2003 and is a California based company operating in the heart of the Temecula Wine Country. We have been farming our vineyards since 1984 and are a real working winery, growing and producing over 20 estate grown varietals within certified sustainable facilities.

We are located right next to our Four Diamond, 90 room, boutique hotel Ponte Vineyard Inn, and are surrounded by 300 acres of mature vineyards and views of rolling hills. We are a short drive from most of Southern California and enjoy hosting folks who want a break from city life. Our guests visit us seeking a relaxing day or overnight stay in the country.

Summary

The Tasting Room Barback will set up and maintain the tasting counter for the servers, ensuring the servers have all the necessary tools to exceed the guests' expectations throughout the day.

Compensation: $16.00 hourly + Tips

Hours of Operation: Monday - Sunday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensures the Tasting Room and Reserve Room servers have everything they need to be successful for the day.
  • Full setup and break down tasting counters in the Tasting Room and Reserve Room tasting areas.
  • Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Ensure wine is stocked at tasting counters, tasting floor, storage room and cashier station.
  • Prepare serving stations with wine, glasses, breadsticks, wine club shipment boxes and towels to ensure guests' expectations are exceeded.
  • Maintains stock and cleanliness of Tasting Room and Reserve Room counters.
  • Collect and wash glasses ensuring a clean tasting counter.
  • Carry wine and merchandise to the guest's car as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to environmental standards set by the winery.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Must be 21 and older.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a standing position for long periods of time, and in the outdoors, during inclement weather.
  • Ability and willingness to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability and willingness to lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 40-50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Ability and willingness to bend, squat, stoop, and climb stairs on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to treat all associates and guests in a respectful manner.
  • Exhibits integrity (honesty and truthfulness).
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. regularly throughout their shift.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Open availability is preferred. More than 4 scheduled shifts a month is required.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work special events (i.e. barrel tastings, wine club events, etc.)
  • Experience with wine is desirable but not essential.
  • Positive attitude, good conversational skills and enjoys working with the guests.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Able to engage the guests in a clear and professional manner.
  • Be willing and able to work well under pressure.
  • Work in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card.
