YSI is seeking a highly qualified Instructional system Designer. The selected candidate will be able to communicate effectively (written/verbal), possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and be innovative in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • The Instructional Guide Developer & AI Specialist will create modern instructional materials, convert outdated content into updated formats, and develop training content using AI tools.
  • The specialist will research and select AI tools that meet clients compliance and security standards, ensuring integration with existing government systems.
  • This role requires ensuring that the selected AI software complies with our client requirements and integrates with existing systems.
  • The specialist will also train government personnel on the new systems and create instructional video content.
  • Responsibilities include developing user-friendly instructional guides that are visually appealing and easy to navigate, incorporating infographics, screenshots, and other visual aids.
  • This role involves utilizing AI tools to convert outdated training materials into modern formats, updating content for relevance and engagement, and ensuring compatibility with current technological standards.
  • The specialist will also train government personnel through workshops, one-on-one sessions, and detailed training documentation.
  • Additionally, the specialist will script, record, and edit instructional videos explaining new systems and workflows, ensuring they are clear and engaging while adhering to accessibility standards.
  • A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Computer Science, or a related field is required, along with experience in instructional design and content creation.
  • The role requires familiarity with AI tools for text-to-video conversion and Video Recording and Editing.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor staff are essential.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Instructional Design Certification) are preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in instructional design and development, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in designing and delivering effective training programs.
  • Extensive experience working with adult learners and in government or military training environments is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using instructional design software and tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, Camtasia).
  • Proficiency in Google suite of applications including Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides, Forms and with Google Meet including tools and activity functions (e.g. Polling, Q&A Pod, etc.)
  • Familiarity with multimedia production tools and techniques, including video editing, graphic design, and animation.
  • Proficiency with and for in information and communication technology
  • Deep understanding of learning theories, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom s Taxonomy), and best practices in adult education.
  • Ability to apply these theories and models to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality training materials.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to conduct thorough needs assessments, analyze learner data, and identify gaps in existing training programs.
  • Skill in developing innovative solutions to address training needs and improve learner outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
