"DB2 DBA (Database Administrator) experience typically involves managing and maintaining IBM's DB2 database, which is used for both transactional and analytical workloads.

Key Responsibilities:

Installing and setting up DB2 database software on different platforms (e.g., Windows, UNIX, Linux). Configuring the database environment, including storage, memory, and security settings.
Database Design and Architecture: Designing databases and schemas to meet business requirements. Creating and managing tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, and constraints. Planning database architecture for performance, scalability, and redundancy.

Writing scripts for database monitoring, backups, automation of routine tasks, and scheduling jobs using tools like cron or DB2 native tools.
Resolving database-related issues such as connectivity problems, slow query performance, or system crashes. Working with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve critical incidents.
SQL Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SQL for creating, querying, and managing databases.
Experience with tools like DB2 Control Center, db2look, db2pd, and db2diag.
Expertise in performance tuning, including indexing, query optimization, and memory allocation.
Familiarity with DB2 backup utilities and disaster recovery protocols.
Ability to automate tasks using Shell scripting (on Linux/UNIX) or PowerShell (on Windows).
Understanding of OS-level administration on platforms such as AIX, Linux, or Windows.
Experience with DB2 HADR, replication, or clustering solutions.
Hands-on experience with database encryption, role-based access control, and compliance standards.
