Job Description
Forbes Health is looking for a deputy editor to support our current editorial team as we continue to grow and scale our health content—specifically editing and fact-checking new content in key categories and updating existing content to ensure that it’s timely, accurate, and engaging to readers. The ideal candidate is experienced in health and wellness journalism and is a quick learner with a keen attention to detail and a passion for providing readers with evidence-based health information to help them make smart wellness decisions.
Specifically, this role focuses on outlining and editing new content, updating existing content, and developing and executing data-driven testing projects that highlight the best health and wellness products in the space. The ideal candidate has experience in health and wellness reporting and editing, is comfortable analyzing data and creating methodologies, has experience using SEO best practices when creating content and feels comfortable working with the WordPress CMS.
Responsibilities:
Outline, edit and fact check new content for Forbes Health, particularly in categories related to weight loss, mental health, CBD, healthy aging and relationships
Execute updates for existing content to ensure relevance and accuracy
Help develop data project methodologies and in-person testing to find and highlight top products in the health and wellness space
Write and edit monthly rankings surrounding top products in the health and wellness space
Recruit, onboard and maintain freelancer and Advisory Board member relationships
Edit research-based content related to health and wellness trends
Research health and wellness topics, assigning and editing in-depth descriptions of our testing processes
Serve as a media spokesperson as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience editing for digital media, specifically health and wellness content
Working knowledge of editorial best practices for health content
Demonstrated knowledge of and success with SEO writing and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with data methodologies and quantitative metrics
Fact-checking experience
Experience with working in WordPress and Google Workspace
Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and strong time management skills
