Blu Omega is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Enterprise Lead to join our team in the Washington, DC area. This role is critical for guiding our data strategy, addressing current gaps, and ensuring the success of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, database engineering, system-to-system integrations, and extensive knowledge of Salesforce data structures and reporting best practices, especially for Tableau and MuleSoft.
Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy and Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of data strategies to meet project requirements and priorities.
  • Database Administration and Engineering: Manage and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and security.
  • System Integrations: Design and implement system-to-system integrations to ensure seamless data flow across platforms.
  • SQL Expertise: Utilize advanced SQL skills to analyze, manipulate, and manage data effectively.
  • Data Warehousing: Develop and maintain data warehouses to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Salesforce Data Management: Oversee the management of Salesforce data structures, ensuring data integrity and adherence to best practices for reporting and analytics, particularly with Tableau and MuleSoft.
  • Data Modeling: Utilize data modeling tools and create entity diagrams (e.g., Erwin) to design and document data structures.
  • AWS Cloud Storage: Implement and manage AWS cloud storage solutions to support data infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address data-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Resource Allocation: Evaluate and optimize team composition to ensure the right mix of skills and resources for project success.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in database administration, database engineering, and system integrations.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
    • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and management.
    • Experience with data warehousing solutions and best practices.
    • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce data structures, concepts, and reporting best practices, especially with Tableau and MuleSoft.
    • Familiarity with system-to-system integration tools and techniques.
    • Proficiency with data modeling tools and creating entity diagrams (e.g., Erwin).
    • Experience with AWS cloud storage solutions.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to "talk data nerdy" and explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional initiatives.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with additional cloud platforms and infrastructure considerations.
  • Familiarity with other data tools and technologies.
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment.
  • Local to the Washington, DC area
