Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid- Onsite 3 days a week)
Position Summary
Minimum 7 years of IT industry experience
Understanding of mainframe (IMS, TSO, DB2 tables, read/update JCL)
Strong experience on mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, DB2 Stored procedures, SORT, SPUFI, QMF, IBM Scripting, MQ series.
Data Manipulation tools such as INSYCN for Files and INSYNC for DB2 tables, IBM load utilities for data synchronisation.
ADE Workbench and SCLM for code management and maintenance.
Experience in handling the production releases and pre and post production support activities.
Knowledge of service now, work request, release ticket and change ticket.
Production support experience and issue fixing, understanding of SLA.
Good to have experience on Offering system (offering configuration, state approval, viewing), Rules Maintenance system.
Working experience in advanced tables, AFP/PDF output creation.
Understanding and prior use of Boolean and conditional logic
Develop complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified logic
Strong attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to create requirement analysis, physical and logical design specifications, development and testing of Dialogue code and/or application components. Translate functional specifications into technical specifications.
Good interpersonal skills to interact with team members
Good communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel and user communities
Ability to prioritize work under the pressure of deadlines
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work as part of a team and also independently
Efficient skill in coding and interpreting Rules and Functions
Monitor and troubleshoot observations and/or concerns related to dialogue development-to include researching issues/defects to determine root cause
Review requirements with business partners, providing feedback and/or comments, and troubleshoot any implementation issues; consulting on Technical Builds
Knowledge about Agile Methodology
Basic insurance knowledge (Product Knowledge)
Proactively raise issues in a timely manner
Task oriented
Willingness to work in development and support project
Experience using Exstream Dialogue tool with various dialogue capabilities.
Driver file mapping and understanding of how to map variables to be used in document creation
Workflow and basic knowledge of document compositions, style sheets, variables, rules, functions, tables, and document flow
Desktop publishing knowledge
